Second decennial

A second decennial Commemoration should have been held in 1941 but because of the war it was postponed. The year 1946, however, marked the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of the Founding of the House and this was duly celebrated on Monday 21 October.

At 3pm a Lecture was delivered by the Revd Dr Leonard Hodgson, Canon of Christ Church and Regius Professor of Divinity in the University of Oxford. His subject was "Biblical Theology and the Sovereignty of God" (this was published by the Cambridge University Press in 1947). The Chair wsa taken by the Revd Dr Charles Raven, Master of Christ's College and Regius Professor of Divinity.

After Tea in the Common Room and Dining Hall there was a short service in Chapel. In the evening there was a Dinner in Hall to a large number of Univeristy and other guests. Mrs Flew gave a dinner-party at the Blue Boar Hotel to Mrs Hodgson and a few other ladies.
